GATSBY MEETS ENGLISH GARDENS
During Summer 2013, I worked with Jewelry Designer Karen Ko to help her realize a new collection of jewelry for the SS 2014 GLAM line, GLAM is targeted towards the higher end consumer with a focus on red carpet style statement jewelry pieces. Through this new collection, she hoped to reposition her brand and appeal to a larger number of fashionable women in the target customer segment.
About the Brand: Designed for the woman who wants to make a statement, k2o by Karen Ko is a jewelry brand consisting of three distinct, yet cohesive lines. The Glam, Rock and Pop lines allow for both style specification and experimentation. While each line is designed with a different woman in mind, all three are inspired by geometric shapes, prisms, architecture, woven textures and color trends to create refined stand-out pieces that can be mixed and matched. Stylishly Daring Jewelry for the Fashion Forward. Steal the Spotlight with k2o.
SS 2014 Concept Elements: Art Deco & English Gardens
The concept elements of 1920's Art Deco and English Gardens were decided upon after an intensive research into current trends in fashion from the RTW 2013 to Couture 2014, in particular fashion houses such as Valentino, Marchesa and Zuhair Murad.. Cultural trends were also taken into consideration, such as the revival of the Art Deco style due to the release of the novel-turned-movie, The Great Gatsby. The new collection would be more delicate and feminine than past collections but maintaining the stylish flair of the k2o brand.
Taking inspiration from research and generating sketches of caps and quarters. (see pinterest site for element pins)
